Q: What type of brands/products do you carry?
A: Our primary window manufacturers are
Hurd Windows & Doors and
Marvin Windows & Doors. We also carry Ply-Gem products (formerly known as MW Windows). We also use
Tucker Door products and offer unlimited custom door designs made to customer's wishes.
Q: Do you sell directly to homeowners?
A: Yes we do sell directly to homeowners. While some other suppliers charge a much higher price to individual customers, SW&D is very competitive on our prices, knowing that satisfied customers will be our best source of advertising. We do offer incentives to custom homebuilders and remodelers, but homeowner prices are very competitive to those given to building professionals.

A: SW&D specializes in windows & doors and are experts in diagnosing homeowner's needs. Customer service and attention to detail are a few things that separate us from the large, impersonal box stores where customer service and attention are not necessarily a priority. Another thing to consider is that while a large box store or lumberyard has a variety of products, that doesn't always translate to lower prices. Our vendors recognize our specialization and focus on promoting and understanding their products and in turn keep our pricing very competitive.
Q: Do you carry Energy Star rated products?
A: Yes. Most of our products meet the new
Energy Star ratings. There have been recent changes to the Energy Star ratings, with tougher criteria to match the $1500 tax rebate standards. These recent changes are challenging to understand even for those of us within the industry. Please feel free to speak with us if you have any specific questions about our products and ratings.

Q: How can I see your products?
A: We have product samples available to show you and we will come out to your home to give an in-home demonstration. In most instances, a home visit is warranted anyway in order for us to get a better idea of the existing conditions, especially for replacements, to see which products work best in your home. We offer a FREE ESTIMATE.
Q: What makes you a "Green" company?
A: SW&D is committed to the Green building philosophy and sustainable building practices. Our partner manufactures have maintained this integral philosophy as well making our business goals similar. SW&D business paper products are made from 100% recycled paper (letterhead, envelopes and business cards). We also support local businesses, partnering with the best custom homebuilders, installers and remodelers in the area.
Q: How far will you travel for a job?
A: We cover all area of NC as well as Upstate SC and Southern VA. Of course, travel costs can affect our competitiveness, but we'll gladly offer a quote for all projects in our service area.
Q: What do I do if I have a problem with my windows/doors after they are installed? Do you offer a warranty on your work?
A: Any products installed by our representatives (J&L Designs) carries a 1 year warranty on workmanship. Additionally, if any thing malfunctions with the products, they are covered by the manufactures' warranty, which typically is a minimum 10-year warranty.
